My mother needs prayers for health - New good news on pg. 2

My mother had a CT scan of her head 2 days ago, and something did not look right. She went in this morning for an MRA (MRI?), but we don't know results yet. This all started because she mentioned to her doctor that she seemed way too forgetful for her age.

Please pray that whatever they find will be treatable. Thank you and God bless,

The good news: Results of the MRA came back negative for any kind of aneurism or stroke.

The not-so-good news: Mom will need to be tested for early onset Alzheimers. She is about to turn 58.

Praise the Lord for the test results. We will pray real hard for the test of Alzheimers.

That is a wonderful test result! The docs that read some of those brain images are a special and very talented breed!

I will keep in prayer that future test results are clean and healthy!

they often-times will do an MRI/MRA of the brain.
MRI is just static images of the brain, usually a set of 5, which will reveal such things, but not limited to, CVA (stroke), MS (multiple sclerosis), Tumors/Cysts, and other abnormalities.
an MRA is an MRI of the arteries, thus the "A" in the brain, it will show the Circle of Willes (?sp) usually abbreviated as C.O.W. brain MRA's don't require a contrast injection and only adds (on average) 10 minutes to the exam.
on my machine, I can get through a double study of this nature in 30min, tops.
hope all works out, memory loss, and forgetfulness is a very hard thing to nail down, so please be patient with the Dr's as they try to sort things out.
also, is she seeing a Neurologist? probably a good idea to follow up with one, but her PCP (primary care physician) will help decide what course of action is best.
once again, hope all works out.
