Fell three stories to his death at Texan's game trying to slide down handrail on escalator.
Darwin at work again.

Yeah. this was a series of poor choices that spun quickly out of control. Prayers for the family, though.

It sounds like he could be a Darwin award nominee.

Stupid, while often painful, is sometimes fatal.
My condolences to the family.
Stadium officials would not say whether the escalator handrail had any sort of anti-slide feature (emphasis mine), such as raised circles sometimes called "hockey pucks."
How far must one go to protect people from themselves?

You can't "childproof" the whole world.

Also saw video of the fisticuffs that broke out at the game. Guess they need to ban the wearing of any type of jersey on the grounds???

A little of my philosophy: When we were younger, we were stronger and had quicker reflexes that allowed us to escape certain dangerous situations that our youth and inexperience got us involved. As we got older, our experience and wisdom kept us from getting into those same situations.

The law of gravity is enforced aggressively and there is no appeal.

I couldn't have said it better.

Uh. Oh. From the Houston Chronicle.
http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas ... 841278.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"The day after Kelly's death, 20-year-old Isaac Grubb of Lenoir City, Tenn., was killed when he somehow fell over a
33-inch railing and plummeted to the lower level of the Georgia Dome in downtown Atlanta during the Tennessee-North Carolina State game, according to the Associated Press."
The International Building Code requires a 44 inch guardrail where the fall is over 18 inches.
In the old days the code used to allow a combination handrail guardrail at the 33 inch height. But that height was to low and encouraged this sort of activity.
I wonder what the escalator railing height was at Reliant Stadium. If it was at the 33 inch height like the stadium in Atlanta, I need to apologize for my earlier Darwin comment.
RIP young man. My condolences to his family.
