Some 15 minutes later, when he heard footsteps moving closer up the stairs, he raised the rifle to his eye. The intruder kicked open the door. Jones fixed his aim ...

Stop the "gun deaths" "gun violence" Guns make it so unfair; criminals need a better chance against paraplegics/elderly I mean 3 robbers against a 92-year-old man with a gun is hardly fair
... there oughtta be a law against guns in houses. ;-)
Ms. Brady, add these unfortunate souls to the "gun death" statistics; poor criminals; some even look like Obama's or Hillary's imaginary sons

"I've been robbed so much in the past five weeks, I said it's going to have to be a message to the people. The only way you going to stop this is you [going to] have to leave one laying in the grass. That's the only way you're [going to] stop it," Jones said.
Stamping out recidivism one bad guy at a time.

It was noted in the comments that opening a murder docket is standard procedure to start an investigation whenever anyone is killed. Problem when reading stories from different countries, we don't know the procedures.

Yup,, the differences in laws, where in UK they arrest a couple for self defense on their own property, after repeated home invasions, In some countries they open a murder docket as standard procedure, in others it's accepted that "He needed killin'..." case closed; less tax money wasted, less resources used.
