While many cities have buy-back programs to get rid of the "dangerous" guns, Sealy, TX is selling them to the public!

Bummer. Need to be an FFL to bid.

I'm not hugely literate on legal stuff to begin with, and this is kind of a weird case; what would be the legality of getting an FFL to bid on your behalf? Would that constitute a straw purchase?

If an FFL bids and pays and you then pay the FFL and fill out the appropriate paperwork for each firearm I can't see how that would be a straw purchase.

Yeah, I don't see where it would be a problem either, but I've been wrong before. Functionally, seems like it would be something like Gunbroker - the FFL is still there to make sure you're good to own anything. I guess it might run afoul of some policy of whatever office is running the auction, but whatever.

Depending on how high the prices get I will be bidding on those.

I won two of those auctions today. Nowhere in the auction did it mention having to pay a transfer fee when picking them up and now I am told I have to pay $25 per gun (this is over the final selling price and buyers premium). Seems deceptive to me that after I win they now tell me I have to pay more. I have to contact the auction place and see what they tell me.

4 shotguns, the pistols were selling for too much.
