This story caught my attention. I don't remember reading about a case of bubonic plague in a long time. It appears that the 7 year old girl will completely recover. Kudos to the doctors for a quick diagnosis. They probably had a good memory of the symptoms from medical school.

I seem to remember a few people vevery year or so come down with it. It usually makes headlines because it is both rare and deadly if untreated.

We should be in Colorado in a week or so for a week or so. I sure hope we don't catch it.

One of my Wilderness First Responder course teachers who is a former EMT, had the bubonic plague. There are a few cases each year.

Stay away from fur bearing mammals. Maybe get yourself some Frontline. ;-)
