I mailed my packet to DPS on 8/22 and it was received on 8/24. Finally, today (9/12) the status changed to background check under review.

Mine changed yesterday. It will be interesting to see how they each play out.

The day had gotten off to a really bad start until I checked the DPS website. My background check now shows complete with manufacture pending.

Awesome. Yours is one day behind mine. I'm hoping mine will show 'Mailed' tomorrow.

Hopefully it will goto mailed later today or tomorrow. From what ive seen after it goes to mailed status the actual postmark won't be for 3 or 4 days after.

It finally changed to Mailed today.

It finally made it! 8/22 to 10/9 mailbox to mailbox...48 days.

When I mailed in my paperwork on 8/22, I had accepted that I was basically giving up a whole year since my birthday was coming up on Oct 5th, but I was impatient. I just noticed that it expires on 10/5/17, so I couldn't have timed that more perfectly.
