Funny. . . sounds like the Denton I remember.
I probably took a class with whoever was supposed to open this thing. I was there beginning in '99. . . my guess is the guy who buried it in '92 was still hanging around campus working on a new major (and not quite done with his first one yet). "Was that due TODAY???"

The First State Bank of Texas buried it. . . it became Wells Fargo just over a decade ago. Most likely, it hasn't been a priority for Wells Fargo. . . if they even knew about it after the transition.
Makes for a funny story and an interesting landmark.
