Got a surprise this morning.......

Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent.

:?: :?:

The instructor at my class checked everyones packet to make sure all the "i's" were dotted ad the "t's" were crossed...there's no way any info was missing.

Does this mean I start the 60 day wait all over again?

ETA: Think I spotted the problem, I didn't sign the bottom of the last page of the on-line app. Dang it!

Rats!

I hope that doesn't start the 60 days all over again.

The waiting is hard enough the first go 'round.

You are just "on-hold" until they get your corrected information.

Thanks!

Hope this doesn't cause too much of a delay.

Now that I think about what happened to cause my error, I realize that I was the only one in the class with a preprinted application from DPS. Everyone else was taken step by step through the app and told what info to enter and how to do it. The instructor specifically said that this did not apply to me, for obvious reasons since mine was preprinted, so I set the app aside and waited while everyone else completed theirs.

The last two pages of the app were for criminal history, drug and psychiatric info and were blank due to no history in my case. Since these pages were blank it was all too easy to skim over these pages and not notice the signature and date field on the last page. I still missed it after checking my app against the CHL checklist posted in this forum!

I don't blame anyone but myself, even though the instructor checked everyone's package for missing pages and signatures. Sometimes you just can't see what's right under your nose.

Maybe the CHL checklist could be edited to specifically mention the signature on the last page of the application, especially preprinted applications...it might help prevent someone else from making the same mistake in the future.

Update......

Just checked the DPS web site and my status has changed to "processing application".

Maybe there's still hope that I'll get it before the end of this month after all!
