First carry outside of hometown.

Spent the week with the kids and grand kids in Forth Worth. This was my first carry outside of Texarkana. There were three interesting aspects.
First: I went to visit my son where he teaches school. I got there shortly after school let out, but there were still many people there for various extracurricular activities. I was on the bike. When we got there, I placed the EDC in to the tankbag, then locked them both in the trunk. When I left, there were too many people around for me to put the weapon back in it's holster unobserved, so I just put the tankbag back on the tank were the weapon was still readily accessible. I re-holstered it a short time later at the first stop.
Second: Had my first run-in with a sign stating that the unlicensed possession of a firearm (weapon) on the premises is punishable by etc… I took that to mean CCLs welcome and went right on in. In two locations, I walked right past non-compliant signs saying something like, "firearms prohibited." I knew I was legal, but it still felt strange.
Third: I've had my CHL since the end of August. I've finally gotten past the feeling that everybody MUST know I'm carrying. I've also been on the lookout for somebody else carrying. I have yet to spot any definite carry. I thought for sure I'd spot somebody in Fort Worth. Either those folks are good at conceal, or there aren't that many.
