For my Birthday, my Father-in-Law took me Pheasant hunting in South Dakota. First time hunting Pheasants, and really enjoyed it. We were covered in birds, easily limited out each hunt.

I think every bird hunter should put this on their "bucket" list.

Sounds like a great time. Did you bring them back to cook here?

Yup, had them breasted and frozen. Than put them in a freezer bag and checked them as luggage. :)

How was the weather up there at this time of year?

Warmer than normal, high in the 60s mostly, but the last hunt it only got to 45.

Looks like a great time by all. Pheasant hunting is by far my favorite bird hunt. The rush of a rooster flushing right in front of you and not to mention how pretty they are.

I agree with Choctaw, there's nothing like a Ringneck cock being flushed right in front of you! Skip a heartbeat! I always wanted to go to S. Dakota and go on a guided hunt with a guide and a beautiful gun dog [dreaming of a chocolate Springer]. I used to hunt them on family farm with an old Browning 12 - talk about growing up spoiled.
Nice job, and thanks so much for sharing pics!
