Our tax dollars just paid for an obama campaign commercial.

After a Saturday halftime show from Central Medical Magnet High School, which had Big Bird knock down Mitt Romney, school administrators met Monday morning to discuss the appropriateness of the show.

A press release from the school states that the performance was not in support of any candidate and was to raise awareness of voting.

The school spokesperson is a blatant liar and the person that permitted this should be sent home permanently.

Racism is not pretty where and whenever it raises its ugly head.

Notice there was almost no one was in the crowd to see it, at least on the visitor side. Lots of parental support there for their kids. Actually, not surprised at all, that was sarcasm for those that don't catch it.

I used to live in Beaumont. The racial tensions were there long before I arrived (in the 1980s), and it appears the tensions are alive and well in 2012. I suspect Romney is a convenient symbol, that's all. The problem runs much deeper. Beaumont is a lovely town, by the way.

I graduated from that school in 1990. I even marched in that band. (MARCHED) It was bad back then and it is worse now. NOT a fun atmosphere to go to school. There's a petition you can sign online. AG Abbott is suing BISD for misuse of funds or something like that.

and TOTALLY inappropriate for ANY school to allow political performances for EITHER side. If the skit had portrayed Obama being punched out, this would have been on Nightline last night with all the political commentators wringing their hands and berating everyone involved.
