Concealed Carry in the bank.

Hello All,
After reviewing the Txaa CHL laws, I do not see. Anything relating to varying inside a bank or other financial institution. This means I can carry while doing my banking, correct?

You are correct, unless the bank is posted with a valid 30.06 sign.
For some reason there is an epidemic of 30.06 signs on credit unions. Apparently some genius at the association of associated credit unions sent around a memo advising them to do so.
Note that some states prohibit weapons in banks, but Texas is not one of them. It seems like every state where Texas has reciprocity has some weird restriction—and Texas has weird restrictions like racetracks that other states do not.

The banks I've been in around here aren't posted, so I carry away.
Oddly, not even the big national bank branches are posted (none that I've seen so far).
It was admittedly very strange the first few times.

you can carry in banks unless they are posted with a valid correct 30.06 sign
I would not bank at a bank that had a 30.06 sign
I like this Texas bank's sign you may not have seen
http://conservativeblogscentral.blogspo ... carry.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They (and another Bank in Temple or Waco area) have a sign specifically welcoming CHLs, though unless there's a 30.06 sign, CHLs are allowed anyway

My bank is posted with a non-30.06-compliant sign.
On the rare occasions that I go inside, I carry.

I was in my bank today(carrying as always) & stopped in the bank president's office(He's a close friend). He knows I have my CHL and was quizing me about the ins and outs of CHL. Says he's getting his. Small bank in a small town.

Very interesting....if you can remember the name and they are in Temple, I might have to change who I do some banking with.

Not all states are gun-in-bank friendly.

Close enough. I'd call McGregor the Waco-Temple area.

I visited my bank today while carrying, as I have done numerous times before. No 30.06 sign on the door so I go right on in. It's Austin Bank. Several of them throughout East Texas.

In general, laws state what you can't do, not what you can as the list would be endless. CHL laws state where you can't go, if it aint on the list then its ok.

It would be nice if there was one list, but there isn't.
In any case, no Texas or federal law prohibits licensed concealed carry in banks or other financial institutions.

I remember the good old days, when I was a kid, every bank had an old guy [at least they seemed old to me] in a uniform carrying a six gun on his belt.
