If you are in the Lufkin (Deep East Texas) area and in need of a good instructor, I can heartily recommend "Longtooth".
My Daughter needed to complete her first renewal but her work schedule (Registered Nurse..ER and ICU) made it nearly impossible for her to find the time (and a date) that coincided with any available classes.
Jerry offered to hold a special class just for her (thank you friend) but she didn't want to inconvenience him. She was able to get her night shift covered for the next day and we attended his normal class yesterday.
I was concerned that Jessica would have trouble paying attention...since she had just come off of her 12 hr. shift at the hospital, but fortunately...we went to do the shooting portion of the class almost immediately. Afterward...we grabbed some lunch and headed back to class.
Jerry keeps things interesting and is a somewhat animated person anyway (you are NOT going to fall asleep in his class). He is diligent to cover all the material and present it in a such a way that it is easily understood. Additionally, he will not move ahead until he is satisfied that each person fully understands the subject. This effort showed favorably in the test scores.
Jessica was able to manage a 100 on her written test and a 249 on her proficiency test.
Thanks...my friend, we really enjoyed the class!
Flint.

Thank you & your daughter Jessica for coming. I really enjoy it every time we get together for a friend refresher time.
Thank you for the recomendation. you are very gracious.
Tell Mark I am glad he stayed too. Good to visit w/ him when we can.
I am always thankful when I know I can forget about someone on the firing line due to the training I know they have. Thanks for your help loading & Marks help w/ the gentleman he visited w/. Put the Baretta in his hands after yall went to lunch & he qualified w/ a 241. Quality arms makes a difference.
The knife is still always on my desk.
Thanks again & see you when we can.

Longtooth - Although I have never met you, I have learned much in the last 4 years reading your posts. June marked our move from Texas to Missouri. While the folks up here are nice enough, this thread cements the truth that TEXANS are different. 12 years ago, when we moved to Texas I thought I had moved to another country, now I realize that is true. Once day, when the professional life is complete, we will again live in the Lonestar state!
