My local Kroger didn't as of 7 a.m. today. Randall's didn't yesterday. Target didn't a week ago.

A lot of people seem to have trouble telling the difference between a 30.06 sign, a blue "unlicensed possession" sign, and various "gunbusters" signs. Nearly every grocery store has a blue sign, because they sell beer and wine.

Kroger isn't going to do that.

They are based in Cincinnati and do not even post in Ohio.

However, there was a big mixup between Kroger and various concealed carry groups over the correct posting of liquor-firearm signage in Ohio. Their legal counsel was having a hard time understanding the regulations correctly. Once they were "edumacated", it got straightened out pretty quickly.

Although my local Krogers here in Klein isn't posted, if there are others being reported here in Texas I would believe it is either a mixup with the Blue liquor signs, or it is a local store manager misunderstanding the correct sign to post. A polite conversation with the local store manager can often correct the problem. If not, a complaint to Kroger corporate will.

I can't imagine anyone posting a proper 30.06 sign "by accident." The very few I've seen were stick-on letters. I've also seen a few bogus signs that were printed out on 8 1/2 X 11 paper (usually only in English). I found one website selling cast metal signs online for over $100.

Wrong. I think the site had good intentions but there's no way to allow the public to report things and guarantee they're right. As said above, the majority are people that don't know the difference or post places with signs that are not legit which is not the intent of the site. There are a small businesses that are commonly known to correctly post 30.06 signs at every location they have. But again, very few, is very, very few. Personally, I also see no benefit in reporting blatant invalid signs either. If you acknowledge an invalid sign, are you intentionally violating what might be a valid intention and purposely ignoring what is "notice" by intent, whether it stands up to the law or not? I don't like to put myself in a position of thinking that way. If it's valid, I comply. Period. :txflag:

Most are invalid signs....or signs that are proper and required, like 51%, some are places already prohibited by statute, and no one goes out to verify them either. I think the owner tries, or used to (it's been around for years), push people to be more thorough and confirm 100%, or at least post in accordance with his guidelines but people.....well, you know.

HA, I just went over to look around for the first time in probably 3-4 years. First one I see for my town is a bar, properly posting 51% as they are required. 2nd one is an AMC which is the same issue as every AMC, grossly invalid signage. If it's not legit, it's not legit and doesn't need anything further over-read in to it.

I've been a member of this forum for six years, and the whole time numerous people have been confused about red signs, blue signs, gunbusters, signs made up by amateur lawyers, and the old "Vernon's Civil Statutes" signs—which I still see occasionally, 15 years obsolete.

I pretty much want to see it in person or see a photograph with someone holding up a measuring stick.

I'll check Kroger again tomorrow and look twice.

Maybe the tinfoil hat crowd will blame the signs on OK OC.

Ease up on the "Tinfoil Hat" jokes.

My hat is made of cloth and only "lined" with tinfoil...and it works.

I haven't been abducted by aliens since the re-alignment, if you will...

San Antonio also has Whole Foods, which, despite being run by wild-eyed liberal tree-huggers, isn't posted (last time I checked). Also Target is adding groceries to many of their stores.

I was in 2 Kroger supermarkets yesterday (and one Tom Thumb).
No 30.06 signs on any of them.

OT... Anyone know where I can find Crystal Lite "Sunrise Ruby Red Grapefruit" flavor? "rlol"

this is true, I love whole foods, being allergic to dairy. They have alot of alternatives for me. I think they use to be posted, but 'saw the light' (I could be wrong on that)

The purpose of http://www.texas3006.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is to provide a common resource where a CHL'er can check out a place to see if it is validly or semi-validly posted with a compliant or close-to-compliant 30.06 sign BEFORE they get surprised. It is driven from individual's input and we rely strictly on what is reported. We do NOT list locations that have gun buster signs or signs that are not an actual 30.06 or an attempt at a 30.06. We also don't post those places that aren't posted as these types of entries would make the database WAY too big to manage.

The 51% sign reporting capability on the site was added as a bonus way before the TABC added the capability to see the GUN SIGN: BLUE or GUN SIGN: RED for licensed venues on their public search engine. It still has a valid place in reporting those locations that might be posted incorrectly with a 51% or should be and are not posted.

I feel the site is a very good tool for the people carrying and appreciate Russel's hard work putting it together. And while it may not be all inclusive, it does show many of the places that are posted.
