The weapons were taken from a CSX rail yard on the city's northwest side in mid-November, said Richard Coes, a spokesman for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Wow it's amazing how many "assault rifles" are hitting the streets in this country.... You mean to tell me 100 automatic weapons were taken from a boxcar outside Atlanta... Oh wait it's a news report so they cannot be realistic and say what the rifles really were (semi auto military style rifles) they want to make it over the top and cater to the liberal nut jobs at the FCC and BATFE.

The headline says "'AK-style' rifles." What's an Alaska-style rifle? Something for shooting large game? Sounds good to me.
On the serious side, this is poor headline writing. The article says "more than 100 rifles" and that "the weapons include assault rifles ... described as 'AK-style.'" So they were not ALL AKs.
(As a former headline writer, I'm a critic.)

It's not just poor headline writing its a poorly written article in general... I understand the exact number of each type of rifle will probably not be released due to pending/ ongoing investigation however my beef with the article is the liberal slant that almost all articles I read tend to have. Describing any semi auto magazine fed rifle as an assault rifle, assault weapon etc... I can hit you in the forehead with a baseball bat for no reason and it is assault with a deadly weapon... I can shoot you with a handgun for no reason and it is assault with a deadly weapon so technically any item used to perform an assault is an assault weapon in my eyes. I see AR and AK platforms as just rifles ... They are semi auto or automatic military style rifles/carbines...I don't care for the slant media is putting on things in general

We've talked about "sport utility weapon," but the press hasn't picked up on that term .

Maybe Holder stole them to send to Mexico.

No need for him or his people to do so. Only necessary to send the shipping information to those who want the firearms and let them do the work. If they get away with it (which it seems they have), then you get a nice anti-firearms story to go to the liberal-progressive newsmedia with...and if they had got caught, well, look how wonderful a job the BATFE is doing. And yes, I AM that cynical about the whole thing...people like Eric Holder have that effect on me.

Ban trains
(It's only "common sense", they weren't stolen from a truck, the train caused it.)

Jim West makes a nice Alaska style rifle but I don't have a spare two grand in my budget.
