Bet he beats the rap....political elite.

The average citizen in Chicago couldn't count on that.

I hope he's convicted and becomes a felon. Trying getting a gun when that's on your rap sheet.

If the details in that article are truthful, sounds to me like an honest mistake. While I'd be the first to say that "forgetting where you put your gun" is not an excuse, there seems to be no malice or intention to deceive here, based on what was reported..
Trotter told Transportation Security Administration officers that he uses the weapon for work as a security officer at a Chicago security and detective firm. He said he worked late Tuesday night and did not realize the weapon was in the bag when he packed for his Wednesday morning flight, the police report said.
<snip>
Trotter is licensed to carry a weapon and has a Firearm Owner's Identification card, Chicago police spokeswoman Melissa Stratton said.

Trotter was carrying a "firearm control card," issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, that allows him to carry a weapon during work hours and for no more than an hour commuting to or from work. A department spokeswoman said a security company helped Trotter obtain the card.

:iagree: However, I think the thing that bugs us all is the hypocracy of this anti-gun liberal. He gets to c.c. as part of his job while oppressing the constitutional right of his constituents. :banghead:

I grew up in chicago and left at 18y.o. Never looked back and never will. That place is full of loonies. :willynilly:

...and if it were anywhere that allowed citizens to protect themselves, I'd agree with you and want to side with him in making an honest mistake.

But for places like IL, NJ, NY where the political elite, which includes him, has continually denied the 2nd Amendment rights to its citizens, I have no willingness to bend the law any more than he has. The Shakespeare phrase from Hamlet about being "hoist on his on Petard" comes to mind.

If he get a CC license, then everyone who wants a cc in ill should make a security company, where we are paid $0 for our services and we should work to protect our "bodies" from bullets/Sharp-knives and pocky things.

Here you go, there is gun control and there is a bypass for that gun control. Useless!

Lots of people in IL get to carry by virtue of their jobs as security or PI, the problem being that they don't actually work as security of PI.

According to Daily Caller, his official biography lists him as "an advocate of gun control" - Don't you just love it!!! I guess he'll have to sit in the naughty chair at the next Brady-bunch meeting...

Oh, this gets better:
http://www.suntimes.com/16830151-418/st ... plane.html
Trotter’s legislative voting record on guns doesn’t align with his alleged actions Wednesday.

The South Side Democrat once voted against allowing Illinoisans to carry concealed weapons.

Trotter later voted “present” on another measure that would have softened the penalty for getting caught with a concealed weapon.

Trotter now joins state Rep. Derrick Smith (D-Chicago), who faces a federal bribery charge, and state Rep. La Shawn Ford (D-Chicago), who was indicted last week on federal bank fraud charges.

In 1995, Trotter was a “no” vote on a measure carried by state Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale) that would have legalized carrying concealed weapons in Illinois.

During floor debate, Trotter stood to challenge Dillard on the propriety of allowing Illinoisans to carry concealed weapons without having to go through extensive training or psychological evaluations.

“What you’re doing here [is] just basically creating part-time police officers who have not gone through the extensive training, who have not had the psychological evaluations, who will be getting out there who feel now that they’re — they are stronger, they are badder, they are tougher because they have this nine-shooter on their hip,” Trotter said.
I don't really know what to say, I'm just really glad I live in Texas.

Anywhere ordinary citizens are prohibited from defending themselves, as in Illinois, private security should be illegal. Wealthy people and corporations shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves when everyone else is not allowed. No one in Illinois should be allowed any private armed guard.

.25 caliber??? Does anyone think at his "security" job he carries a .25 caliber? An unregistered .25 caliber? The more he lies and breaks the law, the more qualified for Jackon's position he is.
