TX CHL, Handgun Proficiency Test

My mother in-law is interested in getting her CHL, but to date has not signed up for a class because she is really worried about the shooting proficiency test.
I have tried to tell her how easy it is, but she still does not have the confidence to even sign up for a CHL class.
So to give her the confidence, I plan to take her out to the range and have her perform the very same shooting drills that are required for the CHL handgun proficiency test.
I know the test requires a B27 target, I understand the scoring, and that 50 shots are taken from 3-distances (20-20-10), but that is about all I remember from my class.
Can someone please tell me:
1. What are the distances?
2. What “drills” are required at each distance & how many shots are taken in each drill.
3. What are the min. point required to PASS?
Your comments/suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Guerra

Passing was a score of 175. The following was the distances used in my tests last December. An instructor will probably be along shortly to clarify:
edit correction: passing score is 175
3 yards, 20 rounds
1 shot, 2 seconds, 5 times
2 shots, 3 seconds, 5 times
5 shots, 10 seconds, 1 time
7 yards, 20 rounds
5 shots, 10 seconds, 1 time
2 shots, 4 seconds, 1 time
3 shots, 6 seconds, 1 time
1 shot, 3 seconds, 5 times
5 shots, 15 seconds, 1 time
15 yards, 10 rounds
2 shots, 6 seconds, 1 time
3 shots, 9 seconds, 1 time
5 shots, 15 seconds, 1 time

That looks like the proficiency test that I took in August. But I think the passing score is 175, although I could be mistaken. I recall having close to a 200 at the end of the 2nd stage and I'm no sharpshooter by any stretch of the imagination. FYI, I did practice at the range where I took my CHL a couple of times before the class.

You are correct. I typo'd then realized it after I posted it then went back and corrected it. Passing should have said 175.

Either way, most of my class and the adjacent class passed the range test well before reaching the 3rd stage. And the 2 or 3 that needed stage 3 only needed a couple of hits to pass. It really was pretty easy, especially after practicing it a couple of times.

I found it very easy too. There were 2 people in my class that had only a few occasions that they shot a gun prior to the class and they still pulled out scores of 220 or better.

I didn't realize until after I took mine that I hadn't fired my pistol in over 15 years. By the time we finished shooting at 7 yards I had already passed. I think my total was 233.

You also might want to tell her that she has 3 tries to pass both the written and the shooting test.

Instead of trying to replicate the test, do this, take mom to the range with some 8.5X11 typing paper or, some cheap paper plates for targets. Start her at 3 yards and let her shoot at these blank targets until she is getting good groups. Move to 7 yards and repeat then at 15 yards. This is how NRA's basic handgun classes are done don't worry about scoring try to get a group in the center of the target then worry about scoring. I know it sounds cockamamie but, it really is the fastest way to get someone up to speed for a CHL test.

Thanks for sharing, I was trying to duplicate for my wife but I couldn't remember.
