TSA Today

I usually don't get home in time to watch the 5 o'clock local news. Wish I didn't today. I'm once again
amazed at the utter stupidity of the TSA. Seems a 12 yo little girl on her way to Fla for
medical treatments for "Brittle Bone Disease" was accused of having bomb residue on her hands.
OMG!!! She was in a wheel chair, wearing jeans and a little t-shirt..... obviously a high security
threat. Not. So, examine the chair...OK. Separate the little girl from her Mom. Single a sick child
out in a public area? Sure, why not. We're the TSA and can molest, detain, question, harass and
make everyone's life miserable.
It happens because "we the people allow it".
I no longer fly commercial airlines. After being molested by a smiling little fellow at the San
Francisco Airport that was working for TSA....... made me kind of sick.

I still believe that the TSA is nothing but a test bed to see how much government intervention that public will take in the in the name of security. The answer, based on the reaction so far is - way more than anyone would have ever guessed.

The TSA needs to go or be severely restricted on what they're allowed to do. I was at Denver International and wasn't feeling like I needed a radiation dose so I asked the guy if once I was done taking my laptop out if he'd do the pat-down. A woman in front of me asked right after and all he said to both of us was "Yes. Declining to go through the scanner requires a full body pat-down". He was specifically the guy for it and he was the most intimidating clown they could get for it and I assume that was on purpose to force you to go through the scanner. Once I unloaded the laptop I said ok I'm ready for the pat-down now and he turned to me and said "You needed to let me know you wanted a pat-down immediately". I gave him a look that said "do you have Alzheimer's" but he didn't care and I'm not sure why he needed to know right away as he was already gloved and ready to go. Myself and the woman ended up being put through the scanner and enjoyed feeling hair stand up and the knowledge that DHS now has a complete X-Ray of our bodies. I'll admit that most of the TSA people are professional but I hate the organization as a whole and when they feel like violating your rights you don't have a choice.
The terrorists have won in the long run. No matter how many we kill with our drones and soldiers the Patriot act will continue to destroy the Constitution.

My response would have been... "You can do the pat down or you can go get your supervisor for me, thanks."
I did the scanner once, just to see what it was like. Done the pat-down every time since.
Gives me a reason to stretch my arms..

The TSA is what happens when you give people that would usually (on the whole) have retail or service level jobs absolute power to do just bout anything to anyone who happens to cross their path.
I don't take my kids where they can be assaulted so we no longer fly commercially. We are looking into letting my husband get a private pilots liscence, but that can be very expensive. So we are waiting on this, probably another two years or so.

I opt out. Am i the only ony who resents having to state my name? It's right there on the ticket! Are we boarding a train to a relocation camp? it's sad to so many walking thru the cancer machines like sheep. A recent survey shows a full 1/3 are willing to consent to a body cavity search. It seems the boiling frog experiment is going well.
