Whewww! That's a relief. I thought this was going to be a certain night, raining, quartering, gusting, tailwind ILS approach and landing at Sacramento by a fellow in a Mooney who, after porpoising 3 or 4 times, had the tail come around his left shoulder and ended up facing the direction from whence he had come, still on the concrete thankfully, causing the tower to ask if he needed assistance.
I replied, "Don't talk to me while I am saying my prayers!"

Pretty aggressive, but most of those DZ pilots are.
After the folks jump out of it, that plane is making no money into it has another load of paying customers!
Awesome video...thanks for posting!

Exactly right, as soon as that plane is empty, no more money. The half Split S at the beginning is pretty gutsy in that plane, and as far as the landing goes, I've done some scary stuff in planes but making a landing like that would not be something I would attempt.

When I was throwing jumpers out over 20 years ago we wernt that radical but we did beat the last jumpers to the ground and back airborne with the next load before they had the packs off their back.

This looks like Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I have flown in to there and it is as puckering of an experience from the flight deck as it is watching it from the ground. I place it #1 just ahead of Aspen as the most hair raising airport I have flown into. They have lengthened the runway since I have flown in there 10 years ago. There is a house right where the video is shot from.

Oh man, Aspen air and those old Dehavilands in the middle of winter! It was always a good thing when the airport closed and we got shunted to Grand Junction to bus back over. Even the bus ride had white knuckle written all over it. Sigh, I miss skiing!

Me too. Hmm... maybe I'll use a ski trip next winter as motivation to lose weight "for me".
