Folks of all ages do this now-a-days with their smart phones. I see it numerous times a day.If a CHILD is allowed to go out on their own, whatever age, daylight or dark, they need to understand the dangers and learn to be situationally aware. Of course you are but the dangers of this world are there and they won't grant any slack. That is the point and like it or not, that is how it is. Nobody is suggesting beeating the kid for what happened but rather helping him to learn from so that hopefully, it doesnt happen again because next time the consequences could be worse.Abraham wrote:And I'm not allowed my opinion...?
I agree that kids won't be as vigilant. Part of the problem these days IMO is too many parents cut kids too much slack and they don't learn responsibility or vigilance. In other words, a 13 year old isn't as vigilant as an adult, no matter how much you drill them about situational awareness and if they get hurt because they fail in this, they're to be forgiven.
