If it was her intent to take her life, I seriously doubt a longer waiting period would have prevented her from doing so. Only the method would have changed.

I've read that women are far more likely to ATTEMPT suicide than men, and men are more likely to COMPLETE suicide than women. Additionally, women are more likely to use methods that aren't "messy" such as OD on pills vs. men using firearms. I hope they do a good, thorough investigation and don't just "chalk it up" and move on.

every year we see stories of people going to a range and renting a gun then do the same thing.

And the anti-gun nuts, already dancing in the blood, are claiming that she was making a statement against the ease of access to guns.

Unfortunately we will never know if it were suicide, or death by ignorance.... Did she not have enough knowledge of the weapon to handle it safely? Was she afraid of something else, bought the gun for defense and tried loading it without a full understanding of how to operate the gun? Sadly we can likely only speculate and never know. God rest her soul, and prayers for the family left behind.

That's why I'm hoping they do a GOOD investigation. Maybe it was a terrible, tragic accident brought about by poor knowledge or a lack thereof. Without a note or anything to distinctly indicate a suicide, it sure would be a disservice to call it that without knowing if it was beyond a reasonable doubt.

Very Sad! It appears this family gave their lives to serve others and then this horrible event. I pray it was an accident, but regardless of the outcome it still makes a black mark for gun owners.

We will sure pray for this family.
