The author is obviously biased but it shows that Wally word isnt hearing the anti gun non sense. Good on them. Too bad we cant say the same for Academy.

I can't help but be very amused by this report. Our local CBS affiliate is reporting this as I post this.

While I'm pleased that WalMart isn't willing to be involved in stealing our rights, I'm disappointed that they don't appear to be willing to stand up for them either. If they don't go meet with him then they don't have a voice at all in that discussion. We need as many pro-2A voices in that room to counter the fear mongers that are trying to infringe on our rights.

"Biden, NRA to meet on guns."
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... un-groups-
This headline gave me hope that the two sides will actually start talking to each other.
Then I read this sentence in the article:
“We are sending a rep to hear what they have to say,” NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said -- not to talk, just to listen?
Now there appears to be no reason for me to think other than that Biden's meeting with whoever this NRA rep is will produce anything but statements from both sides reflecting that there is no chance of accommodation. Perhaps that may have been the case all along, as almost every commentator here has argued, but I still think the result of intransigence could be much worse than the sides having a two-way chat.

Maybe he's just being realistic as to what will happen. It will be a lecture as those wishing to further the cause of gun control have repeatedly shown that they don't actually care what gun owners have to say. You should regard this comment as a good thing because it shows the NRA is willing to listen. Will the other side concede as much?

If I had to guess, it is regarding Academy pulling ARs from the shelves. They will still sell them but you have to ask to see them.

I am not saying this isn't true, but I can tell you that every day I have been at Academy they have had no time to put them on the shelves. The line them up behind the counter in boxes when the stores opens, and then they are sold very quickly.

Oh I have no doubt about that. I am just repeating what was told to me by an Academy employee and what I've seen posted around the interwebs.

I was in an Academy yesterday and was amazed how depleted the guns and ammos shelves were. There were no ARs on the rack but I overheard the clerk tell someone they had two Colts in the back. He told the guy they are "still selling them but are not displaying them until things settle down". He quoted a price to the guy and told him if he was seriously interested, he would go get one for him to look at it. The guy said "no, I was just curious if you were out or if you had stopped selling them".

If you seriously believe that Biden or anyone else on the liberal side gives a tinker's hoot what the NRA or any other gun group has to say, you're deluded. The meetings are for show. It allows them to say, "We met with them, but they wouldn't compromise on this critical issue."
The liberals in power in this country do not care what gun owners think. They want to eradicate legally owned guns, period. Once they've done that, your freedom is gone.
