Those Norinco 870 clones are good shotguns. I've got a couple of them and never had a malfunction.
Good choice.

Do you mind if I ask what price you paid at Academy? I usually see the H&R Pardner but this looks like a better setup with sights and all.

whats the weight compared to the stevens. The stevens felt pretty heavy compared to my mossy 500.

The website says they are both $199.99:

Makes sense. let us know what you think after you break it in. I've heard decent reviews and been eyeing one for another house gun. Wasn't as impressed with the Stevens finish as I wanted to be (peeling of the stock problems, etc) after looking at a couple of them. The IAC looks to be another good option at a decent price.

I bet no one thought that a musket-choke (.740) would be able to hold a tight pattern and punch out the "X" on my target

AndyC,
You may already know this, but I'll post it for others who may not: As a quyick fix, you can buy a velcro on cheek pad to overcome cheek slap.
I had to buy one for a Rossi synthetic stock single shot 12 gauge. (barely weighs 5 lbs)
Shooting high brass loads with this shotgun are a punishing combination of recoil and cheek slap for me, especially turkey loads. Ugh!
