Hi guys. I'm new to the forum... Maybe someone could help me out?

I submitted all my chl information shortly before Halloween 2012, it started processing the week before Thanksgiving. Now its January and its still pending on my background check. I've never gotten in any kind of trouble... Not even a speeding ticket. is it normal to have to wait this long? I'm tempted to shoot them an email to see what's the hold up. This is the first time I've applied, and is not a renewal. I live in Fort Bend county if that helps. Any thoughts?

Give DPS a call and find out what is going on.

You've waited long enough, call DPS. Email is too slow. Let us know what they tell you!

Wow... Tried calling a few times. It keeps telling me that due to high call volume, no one can assist me. And then it hangs up. Wow. I will try to send an email and see what happens.

Just an FYI, when I emailed them it took them 2 weeks to respond. I would call right at 8am in the morning. That's when their phones open up and I had maybe a 2 minute hold time when I called then.

Yay! I just checked again (I haven't checked since this morning), and background check is completed! Yay! Just waiting for them to print and send!

they must check this forum
