Anyone know which group or groups may have standing to file lawsuits against Osama Obama to have the Executive Orders nullified? It would be good to be able to support them any way possible.

I hope the NRA uses some of those millions of dollars it just got from new membership to try to break down the tyranny in DC.

Right now anything we consider is just speculation. For all we know these 19 executive orders may be good for us :smilelol5:

Ok I'm finished laughing so lets continue. Since we do not know exactly what these executive orders are we can not plan or take action against them until we know more. Fortunately I suspect that the SAF has already recruited a small army of folks to be plaintiffs for any imaginable case they can file, I also suspect that the same goes for the NRA. My feelings are simple, we can not plan, or act, until we know exactly what we are dealing with and can target it properly.

I think the pres is counting on up to two supreme court appointments...if he gets his way the court will sway to the liberal side very soon.

He should be careful about that. Bush only got to appoint two in eight years....why does he think he gets twice that. I would guess that unless there is a death he is out of luck. of course I could be wrong, but I hope not.

Nope! Can't do. Membership funds may not be used for that.

What the new members provide is added muscle and a powerful political statement.

That's why donations to NRA-ILA must also be made.

The analysis of Executive Orders is pretty limited. The courts give great deference to Presidential acts within the authority granted by Congress, which the President must have to do anything except the express powers in the Constitution. Article II basically says he is Commander in chief of the Armed Forces and can appoint judges and officers, subject to Senate approval. He can adjourn Congress, and make them receive a report on the State of the Union. He can't even buy gas to fill his big black car unless Congress appropriates the money.

A court will look to see if the order is arguably within Presidential authority, and if so, end of case. They do not look over his shoulder at whether an order is wise, idiotic, etc.

Gun rights lawyers, sponsored by NRA and others, have been doing a good job the last few years, getting some excellent rulings. It is very difficult to do. Opposition is serious, skilled, and passionate. A mistake can be ruinous.

I think we ought to "keep on dancing with the ones that brung us," as Darrel Royal used to say.

Mr. Obama will just create an EO that says he doesn't need to give 15 days public notice to hold the meetings. :banghead: :banghead:
