All New York police will be violating new gun law in March.

The State of New York in its wisdom decided no gun could have more than 7 rounds. Thus all New York police will need new magazines for their duty side arms by March when the maximum magazine capacity of 7 rounds is required for all guns.
The police group spokesman, would like to have an amendment written to the law, so that police are exempt. The reasoning is that they do not want their officers out gunned by the criminals.
I guess it is ok for honest citizens to be outgunned, but not the police.
May be the reasoning here is after the shootout in downtown NYC where a number of bystanders were hit by police fire, it may be that the honest citizens are better shots and do not need the extra three bullets. Especially now that every honest New York resident will be shooting .45 vs the police issue 9mm.
