Proposed Mo. bill: Make parents tell school if they own guns
By Elizabeth Matthews

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Ever since the horrific school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, gun control has been a hot topic. Now comes word of a Missouri lawmaker who wants any parent who owns guns to notify their child's school.
The lawmaker says she hopes the already filed bill will bring awareness to schools and to parents about keeping their guns locked up.
It's the next idea in a long list of proposed ideas for gun control, making it mandatory for parents to notify their child's school about their gun supply.
"I am not trying to take away the gun rights of any parents or any other citizens I believe in the second amendment," says State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal.
Two words: home schooling.
Two more words: "tar" and "feather."

In addition, they will ask the kids to root out non-compliance.

Forcibly remove the child from the home for "child endangerment"?

I have taken to asking people, when they state "I believe in the Second Amendment!" just exactly what they believe it says and does. The variety of answers is amazing.

BINGO! I believe you are getting at the root of the problem: a severe misunderstanding of the Second Amendment on the part of many people. But, of course, they have also been misled by those with a gun-ban agenda, as well...

I've asked people to tell me exactly what the second amendment says word for word. Most of the time the friends that I have that own guns can tell me. Most antis cant. They just say "the right to bear arms". When I follow that up with "the right of who to bear arms"? they just look at me with a blank expression.

This senator's district covers most of North St. Louis city. This is the area with the highest crime rate in the nation. 90% of her constituents have guns, but doubt the majority of them are legal and they wouldn't tell anyone but the other gang members about them.
One thing to know about Missouri is it is similar to Illinois in the fact there is St. Louis, then there is the rest of Missouri, kind of like there is Chicago and then rest of Illinois. A lot of St. Louis city is corrupt, as well as the politicians that come from there, not unlike Chicago.
Bottom line, Missouri is a very gun friendly state. Lots of hunting and sports activities. Most larger schools have trap teams. Leave out the political views of those in St. Louis city and you will find that they are generally right of center or better. This bill will get very little if any movement.

They should make a whole list of questions to ask in addition:
Do your parents smoke?
Are cigarettes accessible to children in your home?
Do your parents drink alcohol?
Have your parents ever been drunk?
Do your parents have any kind of illegal drug in the home, like marijuana?
Have either of your parents had sexual relations outside of marriage?
Has your mother ever had an abortion?
Have your parents ever driven a motor vehicle after drinking alcohol?
Is there alcohol in your home?
If there is alcohol in your home, is it securely stored in a locked cabinet that isn't accessible to children?
Do your parents prepare healthy meals?
Do your parents allow you to drink more than one can of soda a day?
How much sugar is consumed in your home?
Have either of your parents been prescribed medicine for depression?
Do your parents ever leave you at home alone?
Do your parents allow other children to visit when you're home alone?
Do your parents argue?
Has either parent ever hit the other parent?
Do your parents spank you?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Oh, I don't. That's the almost funny thing about these idiot progs,:they don't seem to realize that if they can ask about guns at home, they can ask about anything else for which health or safety can be used as a pretext.

They are not "progs", they are authoritarians. Another situation where they are trying to seize the vernacular.
