Colorado Sheriff Blasts Peers who Refuse to Enforce New Gun Laws

http://www.guns.com/2013/01/23/colorado ... aws-video/
Since President Obama announced his gun control agenda last week, over 120 sheriffs around the country have vowed not to enforce any new federal gun law or ban that they deem to be unconstitutional.

While that number continues to grow (Examiner.com is keeping an updated list of sheriffs who make the pledge) one sheriff has spoken out against this grassroots movement of honorably defiant lawmen.

On Tuesday, Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson issued a statement criticizing his peers for overstepping their authority.

“Public safety professionals serving in the executive branch do not have the constitutional authority, responsibility, and in most cases, the credentials to determine the constitutionality of any issue,” Robinson said in a statement.
Anyone intelligent enough to read and understand the Constitution can determine a law unconstitutional. We are not required to obey unconstitutional laws.

Unless things have changed since I lived there...

Denver is in Denver county.

Aurora is split between Adams and Arapahoe counties.

But I get your point.

This Sheriff needs to get a clue on who he works for...and, it's not the folks in Washington DC.

You know, what! In Case there was ban, let us organize a 5,000 "demonstrators" clutching their "long banned rifles" and protest next to Austin Capital.
Take that Anti-gunners. In TX, No law was broken, in peaceful organized demonstration.

It sounds as though the good sheriff has forgotten that he works for the county taxpayers, not Washington. The Feds are picking and choosing to enforce immigration and drug laws, so why should this be any different?

Is it at all ironic that he wants to enforce federal gun laws, but thinks it's perfectly fine to forget about federal marijuana laws?

The bulk of Arapaho County's residents live in the suburbs of Denver, which in addition to Aurora, includes Littleton, where the Columbine HS shooting took place:
