Florida man awakened by burglar. Punches, tackles, and hog-ties hooded intruder. Turns out to be a 17-year-old girl who later said she broke in because she was bored. She was reportedly armed with a knife.

This could have turned out much worse for either party.

Thats crazy! A teen girl b&e cuz she was bored.
Lord have mercy, can u imagine if she had been shot?
Imagine waking up to an intruder and you reach for your gun. How many of you guys/gals would ask questions before shooting?

Me thinks she'll "never again" be bored...
I remember at 17 being bored...But it never occured to me to alieviate that boredom by breaking and entering someone elses property...
We need to make a poll out of this incident...
"17 and bored, whats your first instinctive act?"
- continue to lay in bed, bored?
- run to the Stop and Go and buy a slurpee?
- run up the minutes on the cell phone your parents gave you for emergency use only?
- kick in a nieghbors picket fence?
- break into someones house?

She is lucky she didn't try that at my house because between me and my dog she would have been "bored" in a hospital instead of a jail cell and that's if she got lucky. My husky/wolf mix is very protective of me.

"Florida man awakened by burglar."
Isn't FL the original "Castle Doctrine" state?
That girl is lucky to be alive.
