Obviously, the gun was so happy to be free from its holster prison that it just went off. Of all the things we are tired of hearing about, the gun just went off, has got to way up there for me.As the officers attempted to place the man inside of a police car, he was able to grab a gun from the officer's holster and the gun went off in the process and the officer was struck in the leg.
They always are. They're also misunderstood, really not a bad person, struggling with demons and a good boy. I'm still glad they're dead.texanjoker wrote:If they are going to take an officer's gun, you can bet they won't hesitate to try and disarm a CHL as well. I wonder what type of holster he had and what level retention? LEO's get taught that there is at least one gun present during every encounter, their own. Crooks try and grab for the guns. I've had it happen and it wakes you up real quick. Fortunately for this officer it wasn't worse. The last officer involved shooting I responded to was over the officer's gun. The officer was in a fight for his life. There was a k9 enganged, they were ground fighting and the amped up suspect was able to get the officers gun out of a level III holster. Unfortunately for the suspect, he was then fatally shot by another LEO. Sadly it was stated in the news paper that the suspect was "just about to turn his life around."
