The framework released by the 'Gang of Eight' rightly includes the creation of a roadmap to citizenship, but also includes provisions that endanger everyone’s civil liberties and do nothing to reverse the recent extraordinary and unwarranted increase in wasteful spending on border security.

Let's compromise!
In exchange for reducing border security, US citizens get
No welfare ever for someone who wasnt born in the USA.
No tax payer funded health care for visitors, documented or not.
No tax payer funded education subsidies for visitors.
- Yes. That means someone with a student visa has to pay full price.
The highest marginal tax rates for citizens will apply to all income earned by someone on a work visa. No Rate phase in and no deductions.
That rate also applies to undocumented workers, plus an additional 30% "undocumented fee" paid by the employer.
Employers are responsible for all income taxes if they can't document their employees US citizenship or green card.
That's a start.
