Licensed Armed 70-Year-Old Man Shoots Attackers while walking two girl basketball players to their cars

(Occurred on 2/1/13) - A 70-year-old women's high school basketball coach shot and killed one would-be mugger and injured another while walking two players to their cars Friday night in Detroit, WXYZ-TV reported. Police said the coach, who has not been named, was approached by two teens who tried to rob him in the parking lot of Martin Luther King High School as he walked with two girls around 7:30 p.m, WDIV-TV reported. One of the attackers died and the other was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Sources told WXYZ the coach was also a reserve police office with a license to carry a concealed pistol. One of the teens was also armed with a gun.
According to WDIV, both teens were students at the high school, though the one who died had recently been expelled.

How can the anchor define it as "a tragedy all the way around" ? The good guys are safe. The bad guys are dead or wounded in custody. No robbery commited.
I'd call that a good day!

Because a bad guy just doing his job was killed by one of his oppressors. These media leftists prefer dead citizens to dead criminals. It's the same old story: the woman raped and left dead in the alley, is in their view, morally superior to a woman with a gun that kills her attacker.
BTW, I played this clip for my wife, and we both agreed, the only tragedy here is that both of the bad guys didn't die. It's a certainty that the survivor will be out robbing and killing once he's recovered. The tragedy will be his next victims.

nah, it's a "tragedy" because the "good guy" is suppose to shoot the "bad guy" in the hand, or the foot. we're only suppose to STOP them, not kill 'em.
right...I say aim for center mass and get 'em out of the gene pool

Actually, the good guy, is supposed to shoot the gun/knife out of the robbers hand -leaving the robber uninjured, but wiser...

Tragedy? One of the teens put a gun to the coach's head. They should be celebrating the fact that the coach and both of the girls are still alive and well. Idiots!
