The shock wave this thing created was severe enough that it set off car alarms, and blew windows out of some buildings. If you observe the vid closely, you can even see the impact the shock wave had on the guys moving car.


This thing didn't even impact the surface, and neither did the one that leveled a HUGE area in Siberia back in 1908.

Should we sustain a direct hit from something large enough to remain intact despite the atmosphere, well.....bye.

The video shown on ABC this morning was incredible - many more views of the meteorite coming in and doing it's damage. Wow!

My first thought was there are other locations more deserving of His wrath.

Just ask the dinosaurs about what happened when the last good sized one hit Earth.....

Ironically, we can thank the horrible crime issues in Russia for the abundance of dash-cam videos. There is so much criminal insurance fraud that most motorists have dashcams to protect themselves.

An asteroid the size of a football feild is 18,000miles from Earth @ 1:00pm Texas time. It's expected to miss us by 20K miles.

According to reports the estimated size of the object was approximately 10 tons, described as boulder size. I am thinking car size for comparative purposes although there are probably better comparisons. They estimate it was traveling at a minimum speed of 7miles per second (it was suggested that this is the minimum speed at which something from space would need in order to penetrate into our atmosphere). Given the relative ratios of occupied land versus uninhabited land or water it is thought that these types of events could happen several times a year and are rarely observed.
Surprisingly it was said that the one that did in the dinosaurs was only 10 to 15 times as large.
I will look at shooting stars a little differently henceforth.

Nah red was reference to Esau Edom from the red lintels/beans

In the 1960s, I had a 5th grade teacher who had a roll-down map with all the communist Countries in red. If we hadn't done our homework, we'd mention Russia and Kennedy and she'd pull down the map and spend the day talking about the Red Communists... not sure how they like beans though.
