Going to Houston Rodeo BBQ Cook Off ... Question

It's been and answered many times on here I know that the grounds (livestock show, BBQ, carnival, etc.) and all but the actual professional rodeo event inside the stadium are permitted (with the exception of 51% bars within the grounds).

My question is this, what if there is a checkpoint with security wanding people, etc? If I'm allowed in, what's the best way to handle it?

My plan is to discreetly show them my CHL, but what if they unjustly refuse entrance?

I suppose this question would apply to more than just the Houston Rodeo...

at the gate really isn't the place to have it out, ask for a supervisor and be polite, no joy then move up the ladder at another time. you can get the attitude changed but as I understand HPD has been notified that they cannot and are not to enforce "house rules" as the astrodome complex is owned by the county, city and sports authority which is a governmental agency under the laws of texas and refusal or signage is actually unenforceable so long as you don't go into the rodeo itself

I'm surprised to not see more posts with examples or advice. Anyone have an experience with a wand to venue that you should be allowed to carry?

Great thread. I missed it and it didn't turn up in my search because I was searching Rodeo threads. Oops.
Thanks for posting! :txflag:
