A nitpicky question

I checked my application status today and it said "processing application"
In a few days it should say soemthing to the effect of "application completed - permit issued". What would happen if you were pulled over by an officer prior to receiving your plastic, you were not carrying, yet when he inputs your DL# into SCHMODS it comes up "Permit for CHL Issued". (My apologies to the movie, can you name it?

)
I would think by the timing of the activation he/she would be pretty understanding.
Your thoughts?

Nothing would happen. You are not required to notify a LEO you have a CHL unless you are carrying a handgun at the time.
What is SCHMODS?

Yes, I remember that you do not have to notify if you are not carrying, however, the officer would be aware that you have a permit and might be nervous about not being informed.
"SCHMODS" is from the movie the "Blues Brothers" and it stands for State, County, Municipal Offender Data System, the system the police use to startr the famous chase of Jake and Elwood Blues. It's a good joke that most people don't catch in the movie.

.
I don't think any officer would get "nervous". He might simply tell you the computer shows you have a CHL and ask if you are carrying.
You would simply tell him you have not yet received it, and you are not carrying.
***Best advice, don't get stopped***

SCHMODS...
"We have a full tank of gas, and we're wearing dark sunglasses."
(Something Lisa Nowak was probably thinking as well.)

I had something like that happen to me when I was waiting for my CHL to come. I was coming home from a late night telecom switch maintenance call and got stopped in a drunk sweep. The young officer who stopped me was kind of funny, he stepped up to the side of my car and I felt like he was going to climb into the car while he tried to smell my breath.
He took my license and insurance card and was back in a couple of moments and asked if I was packing. My first reaction was how did he know I was leaving for a trip the next day, but then I realized he meant did I have a gun on me. I told him no, that I did not have a CHL, and he told me that according to their records I did.
My CHL arrived in the mail the next day.
