hooting .223 in a Savage 12 with a 26" varmit barrel.
For accuracy only, what loads do you recommend for 50gr soft point bullets?
Since I was able to buy several thousand of them, I'm using Varget and IMR 3031 (only powders available locally) and looking for an accuracy sweet spot.
cliffs:
light bullet, varmit barrel, accurate .223 load?

The Savage Model 12's have a 1/9 twist rate.
After loading a half dozen different bullets and powder combo's, I realize there is no shortcut.
Was just asking if others with .223 varmit bolts had a favorite 50gr/powder combo using Varget or IMR 3031.

I humbugly and with all insincerity recommend that you just go with a 55 grain bullet. Lots more recipes for that, and lots more boolitts. Sometimes, it pays to go with the flow and be a part of the Borg.

Can you direct me to a site that has them currently for sale?
If not, it would seem to make sense to try to dial-in the thousands of 50gr's under my bench.
