If you thought Cornyn seems a bit wishy-washy on his support for gun rights with his form letters then maybe this other guy might be better option.

Or maybe a better challenger might appear between now and 2014.

He sounds like a good man, but I don't think there's anything wrong with Cornyn. I'd rather see him run for a position that would replace a bad Texas politician.

Cronyn has never voted against gun owners. That deserves our support.

I like Senator Cornyn just fine. I think having one Senator that knows the ins and outs of the processes, and the other who is a go-getter, is a positive for the State of Texas!

I agree with Charles
Read this
ARTICLE and then say Sen. Cornyn needs to be replaced.
He is rated as second most conservative Senator in the Senate.

Well we have some time between now and then to find out if that stays the case. I still think its good to get some other names out there just in case Cornyn decides to vote for "Universal Background Checks" AKA prohibiting of private sales as some sort of lame compromise.
Not gun related but Cornyn also voted for the bailout.

On top of which Cornyn has some seniority in the Senate, and that counts for something. If Texas ended up with one 1 term senator and one brand new senator, we'd lose a LOT of influence in the Senate.

That may be directly true.........
But he did nothing to block Holder's appointment. I saw the writing on the wall during all that and wrote him urging him to block Holder's appointment. Got the usual form letter back and as far as I know he probably voted for Holder in the end......
And that my friends indirectly affected gun NON-Control which has let us to current control actions.
Not to mention all the other messes/lies Holder has been involved in with "The Anointed One".

Holder's nomination won by a 75-21 vote. Cornyn voted No.
http://www.mainjustice.com/tag/eric-hol ... firmation/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; So did Senator Hutchinson, so you can't hang that one on either one of our Senators.
Cornyn did vote yes on Tarp.
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/r ... vote=00213" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; So did Hutchinson, but you have to remember, that bill was pushed by a GOP President and the warnings of the economy collapsing were dire at the time.
You can see Cornyn's voting record on various issues here:

It's not merely "directly true" it an absolute fact. No one can say Cornyn isn't strongly pro-gun, but you don't like that he didn't follow instructions in your letter and "block" Holder's appointment. (BTW, that wasn't possible, but that doesn't matter to Cornyn detractors.)
Losing Cornyn for some unknown isn't risky, it political suicide. As others have said, having a 1st term Senator and a freshman will mean Texas has absolutely no influence in the Senate, absolutely none.

Will you support him if he continues his support for the Second Amendment?

Kick me if I am wrong but I am not a single issue voter. Are there truly enough reasons to take the #2 most Conservative and replace him with an unknown? At first glance, this challenger doesn't appear to have any experiences what so ever. I guess I need to do some reading but does this other guy have the support from the Tea Party? If so, what's their complaint against Mr. Cornyn?

If he continues to oppose all "anti-gun" legislation, and doesn't support anything else that would infringes on civil liberties then yes.

Just in case you guys decide to run Cornyn off, I might propose a trade for Feinstein, Boxer, Mooonbeam and maybe a buffoon to be named later., and probably the SF 49's too.
Cornyn is an absolute prince compared to what we here have had to endure.
