These kids are lucky they didn't get shot and/or killed.

The homeowner is lucky it was 3 kids and not a professional gang. House clearing alone can be fraught with difficulties and dangers unless you know what you are doing, I'm told.

Yeah, I agree. When I read that he had cleared the house, I thought, 'was that such a good idea?' We've discussed it here and I think the consensus is, it's not the best move to make, especially alone, probably not the best move even if you have buddies with guns with you, unless you've been trained.

Even if you have been trained, it is still quite dangerous. Even for law enforcement, house clearing is dangerous.

Just had a discussion about clearing the house with my wife. She knows to barricade herself in the closet, arm herself, and to NOT try and clear the house. Her job is to defend herself....not the house.

You have been told correctly. The only times I have done it there were at least two of us.
