Newbie Here

Hello all. I attended CHL class today and was told about this forum. When I came home this evening I read this story.

http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?secti ... id=9009658" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here is my comment after reading the story:

I use to think like the others here. Shoot first, then ask questions.

However, after attending Consealed Handgun License class today and hearing this story, I am glad Mr. Magdeleno won't have to go through the trauma of having killed someone, he won't have to go through the process of being 'no billed', and he saved a ton of $ on lawyer fees. Mr. Magdeleno used common sense to first "stop" the burglars. And I'm sure if deadly force had to be used he would have shot them. Fortunately, all turned out well. His life will get back to normal soon.

I pray I never will have to use my weapon. I hope I can be as 'cool headed' as Mr. Magdeleno when confronted in a bad situation. Many may not agree with me. But I learned a heck of a lot in CHL class today. Thank you, Mr. Estep. :thumbs2:

Kudos to Mr. Magdeleno.

I look forward to soaking as much information as I can. Thanks.

Are you referring to others on this forum? Or others from somewhere else?
Welcome to the forum.

:headscratch me too?!?

Maybe he's talking about at the range. I always shoot and then ask myself lots of questions, like: Darn, where'd that 15th bullet go, Hmm, how can my aim be that far off :lol:

OP, are you saying everyone here shoots at a BG and then asks questions? I think the homeowner messed up big time. He says "I entered quietly" implying, or at least that is the way I took it, that he knew someone was inside his home. What he should have done was stay outside and call LE. If, in deed, he knew or even thought that someone was inside, he did NOT use any "common sense to first "stop" the burglars."!

If you scroll down to the comments at the linked site, you'll see that the OP was quoting his own post that he made at that site. "Here" refers to the news site, not this forum.

Welcome, VW.

Any time. :tiphat: It's too easy to be misunderstood in print.

We look forward to your contributions.... Find some threads of interest and jump on in. The great thing about this site is that, for the most part, users are respectful to others and it is well moderated. You can have arguments all day long and for the most part, it is kept clean and if not, Chas or Keith B will jump in a smack you around a bit. :biggrinjester:

Here is a great thread to start with. It'll only take a second to read. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10341" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That's what I like about a good forum. I always taught my kids if you want to earn respect you first have to give it. :totap:
