Individuals with valid concealed handgun permits are allowed to possess an appropriate handgun while visiting City Hall. They are restricted from attending any public meeting that may be occurring during their visit. Proper protocol is to identify themselves to Deputy Marshals at the security check points prior to entering the metal detector. They will then be asked to produce their concealed handgun permit along with another form of government issued photo identification. That information will be recorded in a log book and the individual will then be granted access to the building.

It is the permit holder’s responsibility to comply with all state laws regulating the carry of concealed handguns while in City Hall. Any infraction of those laws could result in arrest.

Out of curiosity, why? Is the meeting posted 30.06 (which is invalid on city own property)? What basis are they denying access?

I assume that to have a public meeting would be to also have a government meeting (ie: City Council Meeting, etc.) So, IMO, it is correct to give notice under 30.06 for the meeting at City Hall.

... if the meeting is posted. Otherwise, they can't legally restrict CC. So they question then becomes: is it 30.06 posted or not?

Don't they scan your CHL when you visit the Capital ? I will assume that it "logs you in".

Yes. And I wasn't for the DPS or anyone else scanning CHL's at the state capital. All brought on by
a "nut" outside. Then, knee knocking legislators scared out of their minds did a knee jerk reaction
and caused the now famous dual line system for viewing the interior of the Tx capital building.

I believe the DPS scan links to CHL database directly. You're either OK or not, instantly. The way I read your info is
"logged".... I think someone is writing down your personal info into a actual "log" book or paperwork of some sort.
Who has access to the log book? Is it locked up? Is the information collected destroyed at the end
of each day? Who oversees the info's destruction (if it even is destroyed). A simple visual scan by a
commissioned LEO should be sufficient. Nothing needs to be "logged", written down, or anything else.

But if Texas honors other state permits (for example, my Georgia Weapons License) how could they scan it? It is a different type of form of ID entirely.
