Hey Forum. I'm in the market for an AR.

-Popular Brand
-I prefer longer rails--13-15 inch

It would be nice to have a package deal: mags, optics, etc.

I have about 2 grand to play with. I understand the market situation right now is a bit rough, but I won't pay 2K for a $700 rifle.

I can certainly respect that and the prices are coming down, but not that much yet. It's not going to be easy to find what you're looking for just yet without paying a bit more than what they were priced at a year ago.

The Houston Gun show had new DPMS Oracle AR-15 .223 for $899. I know nothing about this rifle. I think it came with 2-30rd mags.

Prices are coming down. Saw a Colt LE model at the Mesquite gun show for $999. GT Distributors had Bushmasters in stock for $899.

Watch http://www.clydearmory.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. They get Colts in every day or two, and they have fair prices.

Yeah, the market is a little messed up still. A year ago I would have capped my spending at $1500, but under the circumstances I can move a little.

I am also considering builds, so long as the parts are reputable. I'm shopping this forum first because I'd like a package deal. If that fails, I'll buy an $800 Bushmaster and build what I want.

Is the RR by itself, or are there any extras? 20 inches is a bit long for what I need.. I was thinking 18.

For those who are curious, this would be the ideal setup :
