Application time varies wildly

I've seen some of the postings on how long different applications get through the process. Mine is:
2/10 CHL class
2/16 Application in Austin hands
3/5 PIN letter arrived
I just checked and I'm still processing application. Interesting thing is I've lived in the same town for 35 years. Not like they have to go searching around the country.
Oh well,
Still waiting.

Congratulations on the approval. My application got to Austin on March 3, so I am hoping it'll be any day now. Just checked and it still says processing application.

Yeah, here's my timeline.
Took CHL class - 03/03/2007
Mailed in app - 03/07/2007
Received by DPS - 03/08/2007
Receieved pin - 03/26/2007
Processing Application status verified - 03/26/2007
Current Status: "Processing Application"
I'm at 45 days now.
If I get the same service time you did, I've got 5 more days before mine arrives. I sure hope so, that's the day I leave for a road trip, and would like to be able to carry.

I Think if you preregister and pay online before you take the course, it may speed this up.
Mine:
Preregistered eary March and received packet in 5 days. (with pin)
Took course on 3/24 (they were happy I had my packet)
Mailed on 3/26
Received Austin 3/30
Processing on 4/11
Complete approved on 4/23
Waiting on snail mail.
