Inaccurate NBCNews story regarding NRA and background checks

NBCNews has a story running saying that the NRA won't oppose the background check bill. Not true. Here is the link to the NRA statement from Mr. Cox:

Just want to help the NRA head this off at the pass.

I haven't seen the NBCNews story you are referring too. Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me that they "reported" the news in a way they feel best furthers their agenda. Thats the liberal media for you.

Unfortunately, they are...and the "low-information voters" are mostly the ones watching...and believing.

You're too nice and too generous. "inaccurate?" Nah, I might believe, might, it if the "inaccuracies" didn't always so conveniently serve the left's agenda. It's statistically impossible for inaccuracies to be 100% in the same direction.

Many of us "regulars" on this forum have similar understanding of many things, even if we don't agree on everything. However, some folks just come here from time to time and read; they may not even be members. I put the information here for everyone, including folks who might be given to thinking that the NRA has "sold us out" because they saw that NBC story. At least at this point, the NRA has done no such thing.
