In Woodstock, Illinois, today a 22-year-old white man was arrested and charged with reckless discharge of a firearm. He allegedly discharged a Remington .30-06 rifle into a TV set. The bullet allegedly went through the TV set and several walls and into a neighbor's house. No one was injured.

I want to know what he was watching on TV that annoyed him that much.
Woodstock is a normally pleasant little town in northern Illinois, near the Wisconsin border.

Maybe he was watching the Sportsman channel and saw a trophy deer.

That could be it. There are hunting video games where the player "virtually" shoots at deer.
Plus, in northern Illinois and Wisconsin, they actually have deer that are the size of small ponies that people can hunt without a hunting lease that costs five grand.

Elvis Presley was known for shooting TV sets when someone he disliked was on.
The most-mentioned person is singer Robert Goulet. When Elvis was in the US Army, his girl sent him a letter,
and Robert Goulet intimated in a paragraph that he was seeing her while Elvis was away. Elvis always hated him
thereafter.
He allegedly also shot TV's when Frank Sinatra and Mel Torme were on, but Robert Goulet is usually the one people remember.
I could not find the brand/caliber of the handgun he used, but IIRC it was a .45 ACP.

I did not know that.
But Elvis could afford to deal with the fallout, even if it involved lawyers.
