[quote][Constitutional scholar Publius Huldah recently explained why Federal gun laws are unlawful. She noted that the first gun control measures put in place in the United States did not take place until 1927, when Congress banned the mailing of certain weapons. "We went from 1776 to 1927, 150 years after our founding, when Congress decided, "We better start disarming the American people."/quote]

Most violate both the Second Amendment and the Tenth Amendment, but a few rare provisions may only violate one.

This dovetails with an article in the latest issue of American Rifleman concerning a couple of Colt tri-pod mounted squad served machine guns that accompanied T. Roosevelt and the Rough Riders to Cuba.

These Colt "pototoe digger" machine guns were purchased by the loving (and well-to-do) sisters of a sargent who only wanted the best guns to be available to their brother. Are we so much worse human beings that those of just over 100 years ago that we can't go down to the local gun shop and buy a squad-served automatic weapon?
