I thought they heard from a lot of constituents. Are they delaying because they didn't hear what they wanted to hear?

The delay is SOP. They didn't delay it in order to hear from more constituents; they delayed it in order to have time to consider the testimony they'd just heard and the written testimonies they'd just been handed (if they voted right away, the written testimonies wouldn't be considered at all). Unless they're facing an imminent deadline, committee chairs typically leave bills pending for one week.
