...“I’m broken hearted,” Bragg said. “It’s just the most important thing, the thing that I’m most proud of, is gone.”

“The voice of Big Tex is a big deal,” Gooding said. “We will have another outstanding talent to serve as the voice of Big Tex.”

For 11 years, the voice of Big Tex greeting visitors has belonged to Bill Bragg. He is a wholesome representative for the Fair. A man who has never cast any shadow on the reputation of his employers. When his superior retired, he came under the authority of Sue Gooding who decided to kick the old guy to the curb. Her crack about having good talent for the next state fair really tics me. She had the best and apparently he wasn't good enough? I think SHE is the one the State Fair needs to worry about as causing an image problem.

I phoned in my opinion of their actions. I hope a great number of people phone or write. Older workers who have given their loyalty to a job and have proven themselves trustworthy should not be thrown away. Over what? He is often asked to appear places as the voice of big tex. So what? Were these shady places? No. The American Cancer Society wanted him to make an appearance. Oh wow, that is terrible. We must fire the old guy before he does anything else so unforgiveable. He has a long history of doing this with the permission of his employers. What changed was he got a new boss who wants to change things. Starting with one old man. :mad5
