thats scary stuff right there. we started from seeds indoors this year my light bill went up $7 as a result.

It happens!!!!
I have a couple very large salt water reef tanks, a 280g and 120g. When I started it up as a reef tank, I added 3 each 250 watt mh and 6 34 watt T5 light bulbs. Let alone two pumps that run @ 234 watts each, 1 hp chiller and a couple other odds and ends. Lots of stuff to make the meter spin.
I had a visit from the local LEO about two months after turning it all on. He told me the electric companies report any anomalies (too much or too little) and they check it out. I told him that I have a reef tank and he said, oh, can I see, and I so no thanks, is there anything else you need. Have a good day officer. Took all of 1 minute and never heard anything else.

Oh, and all these digital electric meters just make it easier. They electric companies can now tell exactly how and when you use your electricity. TBM can even log on to our account and tell how and when. They can remotely turn you off and on or limit the supply.

Good reasons to go off grid if you can.
