On 60th day DPS sent me a letter

Dps sent me the letter that I've heard others in the forum talk about. I was arrested back in 1993. The charges were dropped the next day. I never had to go to court or anything else for the charge. I DID give this information with my application. The dps just wants proof from the district clerk. So I got the document today and faxed it to DPS. Does anyone know how long this set me back. I was in background check for 45 days before I got the letter. I think this will be all they need to complete my BG check. I talked to the famous "Dan" today. I asked him could I just hand deliver the document because I was right by the CHL building. He said faxing it would be fastest. He said probably a week before it gets looked at. Any info on this will be appreciated.

I talked to a lady today that is apparently my case worker/ technician. I wont say her name but....i told her I wanted to make sure she got the fax I sent yesterday. She said "how am I supposed to know if I don't have your application number?" So I said I have it right here would you like me to give it to you?... So long story short, she was extremely rude during the entire conversation and seemed like she was having a real bad day. She's Probably like that everyday if I had to guess. So just before the end of the call I snuck in my question. "How long do you think it will be from this point?" .. She told me in a real hateful tone that she had a WHOLE lot of people ahead of me." So I said after 60 days and 45 days in BG check do I go back to the beginning just because you needed a document. She then told me that I'd just have to wait and see. ... I myself have heard that technically my 60 days just started today because that extra document she ask for makes my packet complete. Technically, although they've had all my stuff since Feb 1, since she wanted this extra document, my packet was not complete until she received my fax today. I sure hope she can push it through quickly. Not gonna hold my breath. She reminded me of Judge Judy on a bad day! I just made sure I was nice and sweet to her. Don't won't to make her more angry!

I've restrained myself for almost 24 hours, but I can do it no longer.
When I saw this title I immediately thought, "On the seventh day God rested" but it took DPS 60 days just to notify.
I simply couldn't help myself.

That's funny! They have every means of communication at their fingertips. They know our phone numbers and email addresses. But they choose to use an envelope, a piece of paper, ink, and the price of a stamp. For once I was thinking "save a tree"!!! I understand they want a paper trail, but email is just as easy to track. Crazy stuff here.

Yes!!! BG check complete. The lady at dps surprised me. Yesterday she made it sound like I was gonna be in for another long wait. Today is says background check complete pending manufacturing. I think she realized how rude she was and I kept my head and was very nice to her. I told her thanks for all her hard work and have a nice day.

I live in Austin so I bet I see it this week! Hopefully

It is required by the rules that they inform you by letter.

Yes, you're right Keith I know that. I was just pointing out the lack of efficiency. Just seems like in today's world they could do things a little better. They do a good job for what they have to work with.

I realize this is a few days old. You should call that woman and thank her. It would blow her mind.

IMHO, I think your post is beneath the dignity of the Texas CHL Forum. People from other countries came here and built this country into the greatest on Earth. My ancestors and yours.

All four of my grandparents immigrated legally, and my wife was born the citizen of another country. She's now a business owner, a US Citizen, and a proud CHL holder herself. All that, and she speaks three languages fluently - English being her third.
I travel many places around the world for my work (I'm in Oman as I write this, I was in Bangkok two weeks ago, and I'll be Kuwait next week). I find lots of different interpretations of our English language, and I'm amazed that so many people in the world are
polyglots, rather than the English-only speakers that most of us in the US are (myself included). I hope that you'll recognize that if people want to come to the US and become Americans, then we should welcome them with open arms - even if they have trouble mastering their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th language as well as you have done with your first.

Based on the multitude of spelling and grammatical errors you rain upon this forum, I have to wonder if the reason you couldn't understand her was because she
was speaking English properly.
