New York Congressman Jose Serrano (D-NY)'s bill would allow Barack Obama a third term. The Daily Caller reported: (h/t Gateway Pundit) New York Democratic Rep. Jose Serrano reintroduced a bill in Congress on Friday to repeal the 22nd Amendment, which places term limits on the U.S. presidency.
The bill, which has been referred to committee, would allow Barack President Obama to become the first president since Franklin Roosevelt to seek a third term in office.
H.J. Res. 15 proposes “an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”

If they vote this in they should ALL be impeached.

I'm in favor of something far more drastic, and permanent, than impeachment.....

I am very ignorant of the actual processes and procedures involved but I cannot for the life of me believe something like this was even referred to a committee for consideration or discussion.
I guess he has done such a great job so far, they want him to stay forever. Well, at least until the country implodes completely.

Sure, go ahead - pass it. Then you'll see some REAL movement in states seceding. (Frankly, I kind of wish Texas would anyway; then build a 50-foot high friggin fence with razor wire all the way around it.)

Only an idiot, or a member of Congress (but I repeat myself) would suppose that one can override a Constitutional requirement by a mere Act of Congress.
Where do they find these guys? Who votes for them?

I think they do these type of things to get a rise out of "The Enemy". I think this is the same guy who published a Tweet celebrating the life of Hugo Chavez.

This cat probably actually believes that passing a bill is all it takes to repeal the 22nd Amendment. The problem in this country is that a frighteningly large number of voters are completely ignorant of how government works. Because of this ignorance, we see mind numbing abuses of power and shunning of duties. The fact that the Senate would not pass a budget in 4 years and no one holds them accountable is just one example.
I spent a crazy amount of time a few days ago trying to explain to my liberal niece what the "job" of the Supreme Court is, as we debated gay marriage. Apparently our school system is not getting the youngsters up to speed on the whole Constitutionality of Law stuff. I gave her a layman's explanation of the role of the highest court in the land, and she told me I am mean and don't understand how the world works, which is true I suppose.
As clueless as the youth, many voters and media are, Obama may well get a bill passed saying it is cool for him to be president for life and everyone will just accept it as long as the Supreme Court gives it the thumbs up.

All you need to know about this phenomenon is that the sitting Commander-in-Chief is a constitutional law professor. How's that for a sad, ironic, oxy-moronic laugh?

Of course, they could get around all this easily by simply electing Moochelle.

Wow! When did he change his middle name? I know he didn't like the original one, but this??
